[ after the trial is over, rapunzel's once again seeks out veronica. she's brought two mugs of hot cocoa along with her -- but as soon as she sees veronica, she sets them down on a table and makes a beeline for her, hugging her tightly. ]

[Well. This is, indeed, a way to start off a conversation. Veronica does not roll high enough to avoid Rapunzel's hug, so she stands there frozen for a moment before awkwardly wrapping her arms around her. Maybe giving her a little pat in the upper back??

She is Weary™ and everything is happening so much. God.]

... Natsuo and Magnus deserve to live, too, Rapunzel.

[Quietly. This conversation sure is cheery.]

I know, you all do. There has to be a way to keep the three of you alive -- maybe, a threeway partnership?

[ oh my. but she's giving veronica a little squeeze. ]

That's be ideal, but... I don't think that's how it works. [She sighs, not moving away.] It looks like it's something related to one of those "gifts", doesn't it? There's probably a catch to it.
